Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Fans can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
